Following a successful 12 month trial, Posten Bring signed a contract with Hitachi in September 2023 to provide its ZeroCarbon Charge solution for 161 electric vans and trucks at their depots in Oslo for at least 12 months.
Our solution
We have deployed a software driven service and solution that is technology agnostic – operating on Posten’s wide range of electric vehicles and charging hardware. The deployment includes over 160 charge points and 60 vehicles included in the telematics service – featuring electrical load management, tariff optimisation, real-time dashboard and reporting and a support helpdesk for issue troubleshooting and resolution. Since the start of the pilot, Hitachi Zero Carbon has managed over 1GWh of energy and kept operations running smoothly to ensure 0 days of service due to EV technology.
Over the 12 months prior to the signing of the contract, Posten Bring was undertaking a pilot of the ZeroCarbon Charge solution at the Logistikksenter Oslo depot. Throughout the pilot, Hitachi demonstrated its ability to ensure the logistics fleet was reliably charged for operations, while managing the electrical load within tight energy constraints.
Hitachi ZeroCarbon is now successfully delivering smart charging and management services for 161 electric vans at Logistikksenter Oslo depot electric trucks at the Østlandsterminal. This includes electrical load management, tariff optimisation, real-time dashboard and reporting, and a 24/7 helpdesk for swift incident resolution. The software is technology agnostic and operates on Posten’s wide range of electric vehicles and charging hardware, ensuring full interoperability.
